Group 3 Peer Review:
Summary of the Genetic Disease presented in the video.
Alzheimer’s Disease is the most common type of dementia. It is a brain disorder that gradually destroys the area of the brain that is responsible for memory, thought processes and language. Such a disease also affects the olfactory and auditory. According to statics data, Alzheimer accounts for about 60 % of all dementia. The root cause of Alzheimer is not straight forward; genes, lifestyle, environmental factors are likely to influence the onset of the disease. Although, when one inherits an altered version of APP, PSEN1, or PSEN2 genes, that person will likely develop Alzheimer’s before age 65.
Assessment of the video:
Organization: The video was organized well.
Content: The video content was good.
Delivery: Delivery was good; however, reading words for words from the slides was a little bit too much. It is always good to bring new sentences or phrases beyond the slides.
Feedback: addressing the following two questions:
What did the group do very well? Content, organization were done quite effectively. Presentation could focus less on everyone on the slides.
Where can the group improve? Stay away from reading verbatim. We all can read; in so doing, it is great to present new information that the viewer can’t see.
